Department Of Commerce - Department Of Accountancy Field Visit- To Shivaji Nagar Court
The students of T.Y. B.COM under the aegis of the Department of Accountancy, visitedthe district court at SHIVAJI NAGAR, PUNE on Tuesday,7th August 2018. Through this visit, a group of 21 girls representing all divisions got practical knowledge of the subject straight from the professionals.The ShivajiNagar District Court dates the British Era, was built in the year 1930and has 9000 lawyers working on a day. The tour was guided by the senior most lawyer Advocate BalasahebBendre (aged 80 yrs. and practicing since the past 50 years; was also the first chairman of the Pune Bar Association). He explained the daily working of the District Court.
The district judge, Shri Agarwal, detailed out the proceedings of the court and how a lawyer fights a case. A point mentioned was the district court’s first language being Marathi. This was followed by a meeting with a women judge, Mrs. Lokhande at the Small Court. The tour ended in the Lawyers Chambers with a meeting with the present Bar Association President, Adv. Pawar and his team who threw light on ‘Career in Law- Challenges and Benefits’.
The Court visit was organized by Dr. Dimple Buche, the subject teacher, who aimed at exposing the students to the fields of law.
