Inauguration of Club MiRaNomics! Where demand for fun meets the supply of brains!

The Department of Economics at St. Mira’s College proudly hosted the grand inauguration of Club MiRaNomics on 28th July 2025! Founded 3 years ago by our dynamic HoD Manisha Pimpalkhare, the club aims to make economics engaging, practical, and fun—beyond textbooks! Principal Dr. Neeru Bhagat inspired students to see economics in everyday life, while Vice Principal Dr. Shalini Iyer encouraged them to build skills through active participation. To showcase how fun econ can be, the student committee led by the Club President hosted “DRAMA Me ARTHASHASTRA” – a lively game connecting real-life scenarios with economic concepts! The new committee was introduced and felicitated by the Economics faculty: Dr. Meenal Sumant, Ms. Amruta Narke, Ms. Abhirami Misal, and Mrs. Piyumita Chavan. The club has now been officially handed over to Mrs. Yasmin Mutwalli, the current Faculty-in-Charge, who shared: “MiRaNomics isn’t a club for students—it’s a club because of students. We’re here to make economics a real-life experience.”
