Alumni Meet 2019-20

St. Mira’s College for Girls hosted the Alumni Meet 2018-19 on 26th January 2019 amidst the Republic Day Celebrations. This year the celebration was even more significant with the formal registration of the St. Mira’s College Alumni Association. The Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest Dr. Sunita Adhav, Principal, Modern Law College, a proud alumnus. The alumni members discussed the various ways of achieving the goals of the Association. They also contributed generously to the Association for the welfare of students. The Alumni Association has decided to award Rs.3000 as a cash prize to the Best Student in Accountancy in M.Com and Rs.2000 to the Best Accountancy Wizard. Mihika Bhanot, the youngest Image Consultant has taken the initiative to drive a panel discussion on Women’s Day 2019 for the college students. A LinkedIn Group has been created to share career opportunities.

Alumni Meet - 24th April 2019

St. Mira’s College Alumni Association celebrated the end of the academic year on 24th April 2019 (Academic Calendar 2K18-19) by welcoming the current TY batches of B.A., B.Com., BBA, BBA(CA) and M.A., M.Com. The session was addressed by our Chief Patron Dr. Gulshan Gidwani, President Mrs. Kashmira Parekh and an alumnus Ms. Deepa Naidu. They spoke of the importance of the Alumni Association and the advantages of staying connected. The students also shared their memorable journey with the college expressing love and gratitude. 54 students registered with the association.

Ms Asha Panicker, a BCOM alumnus-2004 batch was a panelist for a Discussion on “Prevention of Sexual Harassment” organized by the Department of Accountancy on 9th March, 2019.

Ms Asha Panicker, Head-Content at AgroStar, Pune is the Presiding Officer of Internal Complaints Committee at AgroStar. She introduced the Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act, 2013 to the budding corporate candidates; she highlighted upon the provisions of the Act in favour of women at the same time cautioned them against misuse of the same.

The International Women’s Day Celebration (2019)

The Alumni Committee, St. Mira’s College for Girls heralded the International Women’s Day on 8th March 2019 by inviting a budding entrepreneur Ms. Simran Suri, a proud BBA alumnus. She has been a TedX Speaker, founded a Chai Tech B2B startup called ‘Go for Chai’, has been felicitated by VIA, IIMUN, Value Education as the Youngest Entrepreneur. She addressed the students at the Sanctuary sharing her journey of success. The confidence radiated by her speaks volumes about St. Mira’s contribution in enriching each student.

Dr. Dimple Buche, Coordinator, Alumni Committee presented the milestones achieved by the Association in such a short span.

Kaun Banega Accounting Wizard 2019 was an event sponsored by the Alumni Association. Ms. Deepanjali Mazumder announced the winners of the competition. The prizes were distributed by Ms. Deepa Naidu, a BCOM alumnus. Ms. Naidu together with another alumnus Ms. Pratishtha Sharma had organized and conducted the competition on 4th February’19. The winners are:
