Visit to All India Radio (Aakashwani)
On 17th September 2018, Asst. Prof. Rajni Singh along with S.Y.B. Com Marketing specialization students visited All India Radio Station (AIR) located at Shivaji Nagar, Pune.
To begin with, Mr. Rao in an interactive session with students answered all the questions related to Radio as an advertising medium and the phases of its growth and future prospects. The students were also educated and encouraged to take up careers with Akashwani.
The visit included a tour of the complete set-up to ensure a thorough understanding of its operation. The students visited different studios: classical music, folk music, talk, and drama. They also witnessed live recordings, announcing and editing and saw the control room. All the facilities are scientifically built as per the requirement of pitch, echo, and vibrations.
This visit helped students to appreciate radio as mass media and understand its regional and national operations. Further, it enabled students to appreciate the role of radio as a public broadcaster and differentiate it from private radio stations; advertising through radio medium and operations. The visit was thoroughly enjoyed by the students
