Department of Accountancy

Internship Programme

Theory devoid of practical knowledge is futile. To overcome this lacuna in the traditional Commerce curriculum, the Department of Accountancy floated the concept of internships for the undergraduate students of the college. This initiative fructified in enrolling seven of our students for the paid and mentored internship programme with different chartered accountancy firms in Pune, for a tenure of 6-12 months. These include reputed CA firms like – Hemant Shah and Associates LLP; Jitesh Telisara and Associates LLP (Chartered Accountants); Gold Ocean Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Agrawal Dhand Motwani and Co. (Chartered Accountants) and MKGN & Associates.

This programme has given an edge to the students over their counterparts through practical training in the form of filing income tax and GST returns, filing documentation with the Registrar of Companies, assisting in audit work, assessing the solvency position and suggesting remedies for distressed assets of clients.
