Book-reading Session “My Life in Full by Indra Nooyi” (A. Y. 2022-23)
A reading event from the book “My Life in Full by Indra Nooyi”was organised by the “Read Plus Club” of St. Mira’s College Library on 14th, 15 th and 16th March 2023 in the 1st Floor library. It was hosted in connection with International Women's Day. The keynote speaker for 14th March, Dr. Rama Venkatachalam, introduced the book to students through her insights on an array of areas covered in the book. She spoke about the great woman corporate leader, Indra Nooyi and on how the author worked her way through life having faced multiple challenges. Dr. Venkatachalam encouraged students and participants to read sections of the book. Many teachers also read sections of the book.
The inspirational read continued on 15th March, where students along with the librarian read chapters under Part 1 on Growing Up. This particular chapter included Indra Nooyi's experiences of her childhood, her early life, her family and friends. On 16th March students read Part 2 ‘Finding my Footing’ and explored her career as a management consultant in BCG and Motorola. It was motivational to read about the way Indra Nooyi balanced work and family life. A total of 59 students attended the session. The resource person was Dr Rama Venkatachalam; and the event coordinator was Devinder Kaur-Librarian
