Session on “Career Guidance after Graduation By IMS”
The BBA/BBA(CA) Department organized a career orientation session titled ‘The Ultimate Guide to MBA AFTER Graduation’ by the members of IMS Institute of Pune in collaboration with St. Mira’s College for Girls, Pune on the 14 th March 2023 in the Indulakshmi Auditorium Hall.
Mr. Vikas Kumar Singh, the Lead Mentor at IMS was the speaker for the seminar, assisted by Mr. Nandan Pelapkar- Manager Student Awareness (Rest of Maharashtra and Goa) at IMS. All faculty members of BBA/BBA(CA) Department attended the seminar along with 113 students, in all zest.
The seminar covered the following points: What is an MBA? Why MBA? Its purpose; and the networking and skills required. Segments covered were: Top B-schools in India and abroad, such as IIM-B, IIM-C, NMIMS, ISB, SPJIMR, SIBM, MDI- Gurgaon, JBIMS, Harvard. Mr. Vikas also covered types of entrance examination namely- CAT, XAT, GRE, GMAT etc. He shared its entrance requirements: how a student is marked, how much of weightage is given to entrance exams, or 10 th /12 th /Graduation percentages, quotas, preference to female candidates, resumes, profiles etc. The students were given major insights on how to prepare for CAT, advantages of giving CAT over other entrance exams, the patterns, the syllabus- comprehension, data and logical reasoning, quantities ability. It was a highly insightful and informative session, helping students to gain a clearer picture on future paths and decisions.
