IIC CWE Workshop on IP Management in Start-ups on 23 rd March 2023
The Centre for Women Entrepreneurship (CWE) and the IPR Cell of the St. Mira's College for Girls, Pune organised a Panel Discussion on Intellectual Property (IP) Management in Start-ups. The Panellists for the session were Rutuja Phadake, Patent attorney, and Hrishikesh Mehendale, a start-up entrepreneur with a patent.
Rutuja, an experienced intellectual property counsel, explained the types of Intellectual Properties through practical examples and shared real-life classic examples for elucidating the criteria for patentability for any invention.
Hrushikesh Mehendale, a Technopreneur & Consultant, possessing a patent in Wireless technology, explained the concept of a start-up, the problems faced and how to tackle them. He shared his story and supported it with real-life examples.
The participants gained knowledge about the major steps in registration of start-ups and as well as how to obtain a patent. The types of patent applications i.e., Provisional patent and Complete Final Patent application and fast tracking of patent filing procedure were also discussed.
The session was attended by 113 students from the faculty of B.Com and BBA and four Professors. The panellists kept the participants engaged through their lucid explanations.
