CWE Workshop on Intellectual Property (IP) and IP Management 2023-2024
The Centre for Women Entrepreneurship (CWE), IIC, organized a workshop on Intellectual Property (IP) and IP Management on March 15, with Advocate Shailendra Pathak as the keynote speaker. The workshop aimed to educate students on the significance of IP in the business landscape and provide effective strategies for managing it. Advocate Pathak used personal anecdotes and practical examples to engage participants, stressing the importance of having entrepreneurial dreams and formulating plans. Students were introduced to the basics of IP, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights, along with the registration process and the need to protect their ideas. The workshop also emphasized strategic IP management, highlighting the importance of planning, resource allocation, and leveraging IP assets for revenue generation through licensing and collaborations. Legal avenues for protecting IP, such as enforcing patents and trademarks, were discussed, as well as the ethical considerations related to IP usage. The session fostered active participation, with discussions, case studies, and Q&A sessions that helped students better understand and retain key concepts.
