Guest Lecture: “Davos 2023: Key Takeaways for India”
On February 21st 2023, the Dept. of Economics of St. Mira’s College for Girls in collaboration with the Friday School of Economics of KES Shroff College organized a webinar titled- Davos 2023: Key Takeaways for India. Dr. Sumana Chaudhuri, Dean of Research at DSIMS was the guest speaker.
Dr. Sumana spoke about the history and origin of World Economic Forum (WEF), its functions in the past and the present world, She then brought in the issue of how World Economic Forum 2023 has an effect on India, what issues the Indian Panelists brought forth and what are India’s targets in order to achieve a greater economic stance in the world. She brought our attention to the current problems which exist around the Indian subcontinent and how India is going to play a pivotal role with its steady and significant economic growth. The discussion covering India’s 5 priorities for an all-round development namely Resilient India, Energy Transition, Digital Vision, Gender Parity and Climate adaptations, were the highlights of the webinar.
The session was followed by an active interaction between the speaker and the participants.
